Melbourne, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2009) - Playing its second-straight  game against a nationally-ranked opponent, Nova Southeastern women's  soccer fell 3-1 to No. 14 Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon at Rick  Stottler Field.  NSU falls to 6-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the Sunshine  State Conference.  Florida improves to 11-2-0 on the season and 5-1-0 in  the SSC.
 Florida Tech took a 2-0 lead in the opening half.  Teresa Brantley gave  the Panthers a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute with her shot finding the  upper left corner.  Meanwhile, Katie King made it a two-goal game in the  30th minute.    
 The Sharks got on the scoreboard in the 67th minute.  An Aubrey Fondy  (Fr., Arvada, Colo.) shot from 10-yards out found its way into the goal,  making it a 2-1 game in favor of Florida Tech.    
 However, the Panthers regained a two-goal lead late in the game.  A pass  from Kelli Ragan found the head of Brantley within the six-yard box in  the 78th minute.    
 Florida Tech outshot the Sharks 22-11 and held a 4-3 advantage in corner  kicks.  Sarah Glass (R-Jr., Melbourne, Fla.) made eight stops on the  day.  Melissa Pyles recorded six saves for the Panthers.    
 NSU returns to action next Saturday when the Sharks host Saint Leo at 5  p.m. in their final home game of the regular season.  It will also be  Senior Day as NSU honors its three seniors  Elizabeth Brauher (Hilo,  Hawaii), Susie Lee (New Hope, Minn.) and Monica Tobin (Cumming, Ga.).
