NSU Men’s Golf Alum, Greg O’Mahony, Makes Honda Classic

O’Mahony shot 66 at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club to earn one of four spots

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A 2009 graduate of Nova Southeastern University and Shark men’s golf alum, Greg O’Mahony shot 66 at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club to earn one of four spots in the Monday qualifier for the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic. The 75-player field included several full time PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour players. Aron Price shot 65 to gain medalist honors. O’Mahony, David Bradshaw and Josh Broadway all shot 66 to earn the final three spots in the field.

While at NSU, O’Mahony was a three-time GCAA/NCAA Division II All-American and was named SSC Player of the Year once in 2009. He currently ranks second in school history with a 72.17 scoring average and is tied for the school record for the lowest individual round at 65.

The Honda Classic will be played at PGA National Resort and Spa on the Champion Golf Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. from March 3-6. The Champion course has hosted the Ryder Cup, PGA Championship, Senior PGA and the Honda Classic. This year’s field includes Lee Westwood, Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Rickie Fowler, Luke Donald and defending champion Camilo Villegas.
