FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women’s soccer team, 3-5-1, 2-3-0 SSC, will be hosting the Tritons of Eckerd College, 6-2-2, 3-1-1 SSC, Tuesday, October 9 at 6 p.m. at the NSU Soccer Complex.

This will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams as they played to scoreless tie in a non-conference match last month in St. Petersburg. The Sharks dominated the first half, taking eight shots on goal with four coming from point blank range. Both teams offenses slowed down in the second half and into both overtime periods, as both teams didn’t have a great opportunity to put one in the net.

The Sharks, are coming off a big win against Saint Leo, 4-0, on the road last weekend, will be looking to win their second game in a row for the first time this season. With a win against Eckerd, the Sharks will move to one point out of third place in the conference standings with two conference matches remaining.

The third and fourth place teams in the conference will host the first round of the SSC tournament on Oct. 30.

Eckerd is coming into this match on a four match winning streak, outscoring opponents, 14-2, in that stretch. In their last match, the Tritons defeated Florida Christian, 9-0. With an Eckerd win, they could potentially take over sole possession of second place in the conference.

Overall, the Sharks are 11-3-4 all-time against Eckerd, entering Tuesday night’s match.
