No. 1 Men’s Golf Claims Second at Bobcat Invitational

Sharks fell to No. 10 Lynn by six strokes, shooting an 860.

RESULTS

EATONTON, Ga.
– The No. 1 Nova Southeastern men’s golf team finished its final round at the Bobcat Invitational, sharing second on the leaderboard with South Carolina-Aiken, shooting a +20 (281-285-294—860) on the 6,730-yard, par 70 course at the Golf Club of Cuscowilla.

The Sharks, who trailed by one stroke after the first day, struggled a bit in the final round, falling to No. 10 Lynn by six-strokes. NSU’s final round was the only round in which the team shot over par with a +14 (294).

After trailing teammate No. 7 Ricardo Celia (Barranquilla, Columbia) by one stroke, Hunter O'Mahony (Fr., Jupiter, Fla.) led the Sharks overall, carding a +3 (70-70-73—213), which gave him a share of fifth on the leaderboard. Celia, who shot a +4 (70-69-75—214), finished tied for eighth with teammate Ian Facey (So., Miami, Fla.), who also carded a +4 (71-73-70—214).

No. 1 Benjamin Taylor (Jr., Leatherhead, England) rounded out the scoring for NSU, scoring a three round +10 (70-73-77—220), which placed him tied for 31st, while teammate Mitch Farrer (Jr., West Sussex, England) finished 64th with a +18 (72-80-76—228).

This marks the second consecutive year the Sharks placed second in the Bobcat Invitational.

The Sharks are back in action March 31 at the Buccaneer Invitational, hosted by No. 2 Barry at the Normandy Shores Golf Club.
