Women’s Soccer to Host Florida Tech

The Sharks will look to start another win streak against the Panthers.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women's soccer team (4-2-0) is set to host the Florida Tech Panthers (3-1-0) in a non-conference battle, Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the NSU Soccer Complex.

The Sharks are coming off an up-and-down week, beating Lynn last Wednesday, Sept. 18, 5-1, then most recently coming off a 3-0 loss on the road against No. 5 Tampa on Saturday. Malin Broberg (Sr., Stockholm, Sweden) is still the conference leader in goals with seven, scoring at least one goal all but one game for NSU this season. Freshman Rut Kristjansdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) is the team leader in assists, with three. With four wins already this season, the Sharks will look to surpass last year's mark of total wins, with a win against the Panthers.

The Panthers enter Tuesday on a two-game winning streak after beating conference rivals No. 22 Rollins and Barry, a team receiving national votes according to the NSCAA National Poll. FIT is led offensively by Aubri Williamson, who leads the team in goals scored with four. The Panthers' goalkeeper, Julia Kantor, is the reigning Defensive Player of the Week in the Sunshine State Conference, after picking up two wins and a shutout last week. Sharks keeper Sandra Rolon (Jr., San Juan, P.R.) was the SSC Defensive in the week prior.

These teams are matching up for the 13th time in program history. The all-time series favors the Sharks, who hold a 7-4-1 advantage against FIT. These teams met twice last season, splitting in a home-and-home, where each team won on their  own home field. Florida Tech has never beaten the Sharks at the NSU Soccer Complex.
