FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Former Nova Southeastern University All-American rower Stephanie Hauck and Dr. Monique Mokha of the NSU Sports Medicine Interdisciplinary Team recently published a research article on dermatoses in rowers in the International Journal of Athletic Therapy and Training.
According to the abstract, "The article offers brief description of specific causes of dermatoses in athletes which have been categorized as mechanical, environmental, and infectious causes. Topics discussed include mechanical causes such as blisters, environmental causes such as sunburn, and infectious causes such as acne mechanica. Also provided is the information on their clinical presentation and various treatments available."

Hauck won a NCAA National Championship during her time at NSU and was a CRCA All-American before exhausting her eligibility in the spring of 2014. She was as impressive in the classroom as she was on the water, earning multiple CRCA Scholar Athlete honors as exercise and sports science major.
Dr. Mokha, Associate Professor, began her role as Chair of NSU's Exercise and Sport Science Program in 2011. She is a certified athletic trainer (AT) and has her Level II certification in the Functional Movement ScreenTM. Prior to NSU, she was faculty in the California State University system, at Loyola Marymount University and Barry University.
