Varsity 4 Named Boat of the Year, Snair and Middleton Earn Individual Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced on Wednesday morning that Nova Southeastern's Varsity Four boat was named the conference's Boat of the Year. Chrysta Snair and Gianna Middleton were also named individually to the All-Conference teams.

This year marks the first time since 2014 a NSU boat was tabbed as the conference's Boat of the Year, and the first time the Sharks' Varsity Four boat has been honored after NSU's previous five distinctions all came on its Varsity Eight counterparts.

The Sharks' Varsity Four season included first place finishes at the FIRA Championships, D2 Invitational, and the SSC Regatta. At the SSC Regatta, the Four turned in a first place time of 7:50.8 helping the Sharks to a third place team finish in Sarasota. The boat also beat Division I Stetson early in the season in a one-on-one matchup.

The coxswain of the boat, Chrysta Snair, was named to the All-SSC Rowing Team following completion of the Sunshine State Conference Regatta on April 24th.

Freshman rower Gianna Middleton was also honored by the conference named as one of just five selections to the SSC All-Freshman/Novice Team.
