FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women's cross country team has been honored by the USTFCCCA with a spot on the All-Academic Team, as announced by the national coaches association. In addition,
Peri Bowman (Sr., Virginia Beach, Va.) and
Alexandria Palm (Sr., Winnebago, Ill.) each received individual All-Academic honors.
Programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or greater and scored at an NCAA Division II regional meet to qualify for the award. Individual honorees must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or greater and must have finished among the top 30 percent of total eligible runners at his or her regional championship.
Palm and Bowman capped off great cross country careers by leading this year's team to a NCAA National Championship appearance. In the last year, both athletes have received MVP honors. Palm was named 2013 Sunshine State Conference Cross Country Runner of the Year, while Bowman received 2013 Peach Belt Conference Track and Field Runner of the Year honors.
Both runners are expecting success in track and field this season, which begins on March 13 at the USF Invitational.
