FINAL RESULTS
SEASIDE, Calif. – The No. 3 Nova Southeastern University women's golf team won their third tournament of the year, this time by 10 strokes over a 12-team field at the Cal State-Monterey Bay Women's Otter Invitational. The Sharks carded a two-round 607 (303-304) on the 5,810-yard, par-72 Bayonet and Blackhorse Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
After finishing fourth in the first round, freshman
Mailen Domecq Chantry (Mar del Plata, Argentina), took home the tournament individual medalist honors. She fired a two-round 148 (74-74) and finished four-over-par to win by two strokes over the field of 73.
Daniela Ortiz (Sr., Morelia, Mexico) finished tied for fourth overall with a 7-over 151, while
Liliana Cammisa (Sr., Alta Gracia, Argentina) finished eighth at 9-over-par.
Michelle Ruiz (Fr., Mississauga, Ontario) finished 20th overall with a two-round 158 and
Jamie Freedman (Fr., Plantation, Fla.) tied for 25th with a two-round 160.
Finishing 10 strokes back, Dallas Baptist finished second with a two-round score of 617 followed by a third-place tie between tournament host CSU-Monterey Bay (627) +51 and Academy of Art (627) +51. Point Loma Nazarene rounded out the top-five teams with a two-round 641 (+65).
The Sharks will have over two weeks before resuming spring championship play at the Sunshine State Conference Tournament hosted at the Red Tail Golf Course in Sorrento, Fla. on April 12-15.
