FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women's golf team heads north to play in Rollins' Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, Monday and Tuesday.
The Sharks are among eight teams in Golfstat's top 11 competing, in a field of 15, at the par-72, 6,089-yard Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Park, Florida. There will be 36 holes Monday and a final round of 18 holes wrapping up play Tuesday, with each day beginning at 8:15 a.m.
Host and No. 1 Rollins, No. 2 Barry and No. 3 Florida Tech are among the top teams attending. The rest of the squads, in addition to NSU, are Dallas Baptist, Embry-Riddle, Findlay, Florida Southern, Limestone, Lynn, Montevallo, St. Edwards, Seminole State, Tampa and West Florida.
The PKB has been held each year since 1977. The Sharks hold the top four lowest individual scores in tournament history, and won the team title each year from 2009-2013. Last year, Rollins won with a record-setting lowest score of 885, bettering NSU's 886 in 2013. It marked the fifth team victory for the Tars in the event, tying NSU for most all-time.
NSU last placed fourth in the World Golf Invitational, with this event their second of five scheduled for the remainder of the spring heading into postseason play.
