HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After playing right up until dark on Monday, the Sharks welcomed Tuesday morning with three combined birdies on the Par-5 1st to jump-start their final round. Tampa would remain within striking distance throughout, but NSU's tournament-best round of (+6) 294 would prove to be the difference, as head coach Heather Wall's group eventually secured the nine-shot victory.
  • The lone player to finish in red numbers for the week, Tampa's Kiira Riihijarvi earned individual medalist honors with an impressive 54-hole total of (-6) 210.
  • Junior Sofia Garcia Austt guided the Sharks with a tie for second at four-over par overall.
  • Both Valentina Albertazzi and Nicola Fall wrapped up play just one shot behind Garcia Austt, tied for fourth at five-over par. Just a freshman, Albertazzi has now recorded a pair of Top-10's in her first two collegiate starts.
  • Hanna Ahlander shook off Monday's rounds of 79 and 77 by firing a round of (-1) 71 on Tuesday, good enough for ninth on the leaderboard. The reigning Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week carded three consecutive bogeys on the front nine, but responded by shooting three-under par over her last 12 holes of the round.
  • Mathilde Bertuol finished tied for 33rd.
  • Competing as an individual, Sol Santecchia capped the week in sole possession on 22nd at 22-over par.

STATS OF THE DAY:
  • The Sharks paced the field with a combined 177 pars throughout the week, including a tournament-high 40 by Albertazzi.
  • Both Ahlander and Garcia Austt tied with a team-high seven birdies during the tournament.
  • The course played the easiest in Tuesday's final round, with the average score finishing at 78.28.
BEYOND THE SCORECARD:
  • NSU has led following each of its six rounds played thus far this season.
  • Prior to the Sharks posting their (+25) 889, the previous 54-hole, tournament record stood at (+30) 894, held by both NSU and Barry.
  • Tampa's Riihijarvi finished one stroke shy of matching the 54-hole, individual scoring record.
