HOW IT HAPPENED:
BOTTOM 1ST |
Tia Williams led off the inning with a walk before a sacrifice bunt by
Brooke Ferguson pushed her into scoring position. The next batter,
Suka Van Gurp, drilled a triple into right center to score Williams, before NSU put runners back in scoring position as
Miriam Schmoll was hit by a pitch.
Aubry Hernandez laid down a bunt that was just enough to bring home Van Gurp for a 3-0 Sharks lead before two batters later,
Alex Suzuki loaded the bases after drawing the second walk of the inning.
Keeley Mayers took one for the team, pushing Schmoll home and keeping the bases juiced before another triple to right center, this time by
Kayla Kight, cleared the bases for an overwhelming 6-0 lead after the first inning.
TOP 3RD | A single by ESU's Kenzie Garvin and a double by Bri Shepherd put runners on the corners before Kelsey Phillips kit into a fielder's choice that caught Garvin at home. An intentional walk given to the next batter loaded the bases before back-to-back-to-back RBI-singles cut the Sharks' lead to three, 6-3.

- Van Gurp finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and scored once, while Kight was 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Back-to-back walks by Kight and Williams added another run, before Ferguson was hit by a pitch to tally NSU's sixth run.
