ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Winners of each of the past two World Golf Invitational tournaments, the second-ranked Nova Southeastern women's golf team has put itself in position for a third straight following Monday's opening round in St. Augustine, Fla. Led by the play of both
Hanna Ahlander and
Valentina Albertazzi, the Sharks fired a collective (+13) 301 to grab a hold of second, just one stroke behind current leader Rollins.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rollins (+12), NSU (+13) and Florida Southern (+14) are separated by a combined two strokes atop the leaderboard. Embry-Riddle (+21) finds itself in fourth, followed by Lynn (+22).
- In a deep, 96-player field, Rollins' Seher Atwal recorded the only round under par on the day at (-4) 68.
- Ahlander, along with Nathalie Svensson of Florida Southern, carded a pair of even-par 72's to to earn a share of second.
- Albertazzi, meanwhile, posted a round of (+1) 73, good enough to land her tied for fourth at the moment.
- Sofia Garcia Austt gives the Sharks three players currently within the Top-10 thanks to an effort of (+3) 75 on Monday.
- Mathilde Bertuol penciled in a score of (+9) 81 to go along with an 82 by Nicola Fall.
BEYOND THE SCORECARD:
- Nine of the 18 teams competing in this week's tournament rank among Golfstat's Top-25.
