FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Head Women's Rowing Coach Kim Chavers has announced her resignation from the Nova Southeastern University Athletics Department and the program on Friday.  

"I am incredibly grateful to our rowing student-athletes for their unwavering commitment and hard work. Together, we accomplished the incredible feat of reinstating the rowing program this past year - an adventure that I will always cherish," said Chavers. "Watching this team grow, both on and off the water, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Thank you to everyone at NSU for believing in this vision, and I look forward to seeing all the success this program will achieve in the future."

Interim Director of Athletics John Sung added, "I want to thank Head Coach Chavers for her efforts and leadership of our women's rowing program. Due to Kim's effort rebuilding our rowing program, I look forward to the future of Sharks Rowing and I wish her the best in her future endeavors." 

Chavers was announced as the NSU Head Women's Rowing Coach in August of 2023 and led the program in its first season of competition following its reinstatement at Nova Southeastern. During her tenure, Sharks rowing earned two victories at the FIRA Championships in the 2024 season. NSU had two student-athletes recognized to All-Sunshine State Conference teams (Lauren Gray - All-SSC; Mollie Ireland - Freshman/Novice) and six recognized as CRCA Scholar-Athletes (Lauren Gray, Emma Hickey, Sejal Jain, Jordan Maruskin, Anaiya Person and Chrysta Snair).
