MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced its 2025 Hall of Fame class on Friday. The league will induct in the 10 newest members of the class on Saturday, October 4th, during the SSC Hall of Fame brunch and celebration on the campus of Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla. Stephanie Quinones, a women's soccer player for the Nova Southeastern from 2005-08, becomes the third former NSU student-athlete to be inducted into the Sunshine State Conference Hall of Fame, joining Bryan Cook (Baseball/Inducted 2016) and Dr. Danielle Robinson (Women's Basketball/2022).
The Sunshine State Conference Hall of Fame was established in 1991 to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the league. Its purpose is to perpetuate the memory of those who brought distinction, honor, and excellence to the league. Conference officials selected the charter class in 1992, with 21 individuals honored. The 2025 class, signifying the 25th Hall of Fame induction class, will bring the number of SSC Hall of Fame inductees to 223. The full 2025 class includes Beverly Buckley (Rollins), Bill Evers (Eckerd), Bill Jurgens (Florida Tech), Gregory Malfitano (Lynn), Pete Meyer (Florida Southern), Stephanie Quinones (NSU), Francis X Reidy (Saint Leo), Daniel Stapff (Barry), Carolyn Stone (Palm Beach Atlantic), and Ronald L. Vaughn (Tampa)
Quinones became the first NSU Women's Soccer player to garner All-American honors, being named as an All-American in both 2006 and 2007. Quinones earned All-Sunshine State Conference in all four seasons of her collegiate career, being named to the first team in 2007, while earning second team honors in 2006, 2008, and 2009. Additionally, Quinones was named to the NCAA South Region first team in 2006 and 2007 and was recognized to the NCAA South Region second team in 2008. Quinones also earned Daktronics South Region second team recognition in both 2006 and 2007.
Quinones received the Arthur Ashe Jr. Scholar Award in 2007.
During her NSU career, Quinones started all 59 matches, totaling 10 goals, 15 assists and 35 points, while leading the Sharks to an overall record of 35-20-8. Quinones and the Sharks advanced to the NCAA tournament in 2006 and 2007.
