DELAND, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern rowing team faced off against high-caliber talent on Lake Beresford competing in four races at 2000m at the Stetson Showdown hosted by Stetson University. Boats competed against rough conditions with the lake featuring a moderate chop and light whitecaps on a day with 10-18 mph winds.

In the morning session, NSU faced off one-on-one with a boat from Stetson in the Varsity 4+ featuring Margianna Petridi, Jordan Maruskin, Lucia Allen, Gianna Middleton, and Chrysta Snair (coxswain). The Sharks defeated the boat from Stetson with a time of 8:22.0, beating out the Hatters' time of 8:54.1.
Ending the morning session, NSU competed against boats from Jacksonville, UConn, and Embry-Riddle in the Varsity 8+ featuring Emma Hickey, Marley Camm, Madison Artman, Julianna Becerra, V Robinson, Mollie Ireland, Julia Vande Kieft, Triumph Perry, and Daphne De Sedas (coxswain) finishing with a time of 8:05.4.
The afternoon session saw the same two boats back in action in the same events. The Sharks' Varsity 4+ boat finished just behind two boats from Jacksonville University with a time of 8:27.3, while the Varsity 8+ boat raced against Jacksonville, Embry-Riddle, and Wesleyan finishing in 8:03.7.
