The Sharks got on the board first on Sunday afternoon following a solo-home run off of the bat of senior shortstop Dylan Woods, marking the second home run of his 2017 campaign. As they have done all weekend, the Nighthawks quickly responded with a three-spot on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first, thanks to a three-run home run off of NSU's starter Joe DiBenedetto.
The Sharks cut the UNG 3-1 lead to 3-2 in the top of the third inning when Anchia doubled to centerfield, scoring Gomez. NSU took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth inning, thanks to a two-run home run off of the bat of Michael Hernandez, his first big fly of the year. Gomez joined in on the fun in the top of the seventh inning, launching a no-doubter of a solo-home run onto the hill in left field. The Sharks would go on to score two more in the seventh with an RBI-double from Anchia and a RBI-single from Kevin Suarez.
After the two teams traded a run in the bottom of the seventh and top of the eighth, the hot-hitting Anchia made the score 9-6 in the top of the ninth on a solo-blast to left field for his third home run of the year. With a three-run cushion, NSU sent Ronny Orta to the mound in the bottom of the ninth and the junior allowed a run but left the bases loaded, striking out the Nighthawks' cleanup hitter to end the ballgame.
