LAKELAND- FLA. - Kamila Soja continues to shine, earning herself a chance to compete at the NCAA National Championships. Soja led the women to a 7th place team finish, the men were paced by David Mahnke and Joseph Salerno.
HOW IT HAPPENED: (Women's 6K)

Soja picked up where she left off at the SSC conference meet, claiming a second-place finish at the NCAA South Region Championship. Her time of 21.39.1, is not only a PR by nearly a minute but also a new school record in the women's 6k. The sophomore was also the first SSC athlete to cross the finish line.

Maya Espinosa was the second Shark across the line, finishing 27th with a new personal best of 22.29.7, which shattered her previous mark.

Eden Toal (22:46.2), Leena Saidi (23:06.6), and Ally Jakubiak (23:07.3) rounded out the top-5 for the Sharks, finishing 33rd, 42nd, and 43rd respectively while running personal bests in the process.

McKinzie Winget and Christina Adams also ran personal bests.

NSU's stellar performance across the board led to the Sharks top-10 finish against a quality field.
HOW IT HAPPENED: (Men's 10K)

Mahnke and Salerno spearheaded the Sharks. Mahnke was first across the line for NSU, finishing 49th and running a personal best of 33:00.7 in his first 10k of the season. Salerno was not too far behind, finishing 56th with a personal record of 33:16.0

Adrien Zambaux, Trey May, and Lucas Mardis rounded out the top-5 for the Sharks.
