Starting her collegiate career at NSU as a volleyball player, Rembe took an unprecedented route to becoming an All-American. Playing four seasons of volleyball, she collected 359 career kills including a career-high 163 her senior season in 2003. With one year of athletic eligibility left, Rembe joined NSU’s first-year rowing program in 2004 and became the program’s first-ever All-American.

After wrapping up her volleyball career, Rembe was approached by head rowing Coach John Gartin about joining the team despite having no rowing experience. She took to the water and flourished, earning CRCA All-American and Scholar All-American honors in her first and only season. Rembe went on to help guide the first-year program to an appearance in the NCAA Division II national championship.

Despite joining the team as a complete newcomer to the sport, Rembe helped lay the groundwork for a rowing program that has since collected four Sunshine State Conference Championships and made seven NCAA Championship appearances in eight seasons.
